Minister Kacır Highlighted Turkey's Investment Appeal
Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, announced that Turkey is attracting significant interest from international investors in new technologies.
Minister Kacır stated that there is serious interest from international investors in Turkey’s new technologies. "Turkey will be an important partner, especially for the defense industry and high-tech sectors, in this period, particularly for the UK and other European countries," he said.
In a statement after attending the "Private Equity Investments in Turkey and Surrounding Areas 2025 Outlook Conference" organized by Globalturk Capital, Kacır emphasized the steps Turkey has recently taken in the industry and technology fields. He highlighted Turkey's role in Europe's value chain and its success in becoming a global manufacturing power in many sectors.
Kacır also noted that Turkey is expanding its defense industry achievements into other areas, stating, "We are an important candidate as a stakeholder for innovative technologies, especially for the UK and other European countries."
He continued, "I have observed that there is serious investment interest in Turkey, especially in new technologies. With programs such as the HIT-30 High Technology Program, which we launched recently, we aim to increase investor interest. In this period of increased uncertainty, investors are aware that Turkey is a country that has successfully overcome challenges and is supported by a young and dynamic population."
Minister Kacır also drew attention to Turkey's contributions to the UK and Europe, stating, "In a time when globalization is reversing, and customs barriers are increasing worldwide, it is possible for Turkey to play important roles."
Additionally, evaluating the bilateral trade relations between Turkey and the UK, Kacır announced that the two countries have a trade volume exceeding 22 billion dollars annually. He revealed that the UK is one of Turkey's most important export markets, and the aim is to strengthen this commercial relationship through strategic partnerships.
Kacır added that Turkey is making efforts to take new steps in the defense industry and innovation fields with the UK. He also pointed out that developments in Turkey's automotive and electric vehicle sectors will continue to attract investments.
